The Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi, on Tuesday, 18th November 2025, joins the Eburutu group of communities in endorsing the Governor His Excellency, Apostle Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, and His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Deputy Governor of Cross River State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the crowd at the Biase Council Secretariat, Hon. Edodi expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the success of the event and for granting attendees safe journeys from far and near. He described the rally as a symbolic demonstration of unity among the various communities, with particular emphasis on the strong bond shared within the Eburutu communities.
Hon. Edodi further commended Governor Otu for his numerous achievements since assuming office, highlighting remarkable progress in infrastructure, education, security, agriculture, and human capital development. Also speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Alex Ukam, Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State at the National Population Commission (NPC), described the endorsement as well-deserved and anchored on Governor Otu’s outstanding performance.
He emphasized the deep connectivity and long-standing relationship shared among the Eburutu communities across the state., The motion for endorsement was formally moved by the Leader of the Biase 8th Legislative Assembly, Hon. Egwu Egeh Umet and seconded by the former Chairman of Yakkur Local Government Area, Hon. Obeten Ofem Eberi.
The endorsement rally attracted notable political leaders, including Hon. Effiong Etim Okon, Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area, and Hon. (Chief) Etim Asido Ukpong of Odukpani local Government Area,. Traditional rulers, community stakeholders, religious leaders, and representatives from Eburutu communities across Bakassi, Odukpani, Biase, and Yakkur were also in attendance.
